For the first few weeks, put the e-collar on first thing after getting your dog out of its crate in the morning. Take it off at night.

Don’t live with behaviors you don’t want to live with! You have an effective communication tool - use it now so you don’t need to later.

Dogs under 1 year of age are the equivalent of a human toddler. Would you allow a toddler to push you around, destroy things, be left unattended, not have rules? Would you have extremely high expectations for perfect behavior from a toddler?

Dogs under 2 years of age are human Elementary age. They deserve more freedom than a baby puppy but don’t set them up to fail by expecting them to be more mature than they are.

Your dog needs a reason to obey, whether that be through praise or correction. Communicating the rules through BOTH gives the dog clarity.

Act like you like your dog when you’re asking it to do something! Tone and body language matters WAY more than any verbal command.
